Good wine begins in the vineyard. The majority of Texas Tasting™ grapes are grown in the Texas High Plains appellation of west Texas . Deep, well drained soil along with hot days and cooler nights provide for excellent growing conditions. Texas High Plains growers are known for specializing in:
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Chardonnay
- Chenin Blanc
- Merlot
- Ruby Cabernet
These growers are constantly visiting with Texas Wineries in an effort to bring to market new varieties that are well adapted for Texas growing conditions.
Texas Tasting™ Brands--
Texas Tasting™ RED is a sweet non-varietal blend. It’s fruit flavors and overall balance pairs well with barbecue and Tex-Mex dishes. In the hotter weather, Texas Tasting Red can serve as an excellent base for Summertime Sangria. Visit texastasting.com for this and other recipes. It is recommended to chill Texas Tasting Red prior to serving. Chill to 50-55° F.

Texas Tasting™ WHITE is a sweet non-varietal white wine made from Texas High Plains Muscat Canelli. This wine bursts with fruit aromas. Supporting a soft finish, Texas Tasting White compliments a variety of chicken and shellfish dishes. It can also be enjoyed with any number of light desserts. It is best served chilled 40-50° F.

Texas Tasting™ MERLOT in addition to its deep color, exhibits aromas of plums and black cherries. Soft tannins support a well-rounded mouth feel and strong finish. These results were realized with over 12 months of oak barrel aging. This wine pairs well with grilled meats, all red pasta sauces as well as selected butter/cream sauces. Our MERLOT is best served at cellar temperature of 60-65° F.

Whispering Willow Chenin Blanc is off-dry white wine exhibiting fruit aromas and flavors from apricot to green apple. It is well balanced, delivering a medium finish. It pairs extremely well with chicken, turkey and pork. It can also be enjoyed as a cocktail beverage. Serve chilled 50-55° F.
